I just did a disc swap on my 66 with used parts from a late 70's f100 4x2. The donor was a 302ci truck and the springs measured about .625" longer if measured correctly. Just wondering if that is enough to create an issue for camber. I pulled the entire suspension from the donor and bolted it up in my 66. New pivot arm bushings and ibeam bushings. The rest aside of calipers/rotors was used. Although new tie rods are on hand. Will replace those before a trip to have an alignment overview done.
The old shocks for 66 were toast so I figured the springs were not any good either and just used the donors, kept the OEM stuff incase. Experiences/opinions/etc..
TIA Bobby

Re: Camber change with longer springs
here is what i have learned about coil springs in our trucks. the springs originally put in our trucks were longer on the passnger side than on the drivers side. aftermarket springs are sometimes made with a thicker and thinner rod stock to make up the difference in spring height originally used. but not all manufactures do that. all stock springs from both trucks are probably worn by now. they do say that cutting your coil springs will mess up your camber. you can also get your i beams cold bent to fix camber issues. if within a certain tolerance.
opinion: i would go up and have alignment shop check it out and see where you are at. you may be fine. you may want to go with new springs or put the others back on after you find out where the truck is at.
