Reasonable Price for Disk Brakes - Junk Yard

Post by float_tested »

I saw a '73 F100 at the junk yard yesterday and was thinking about grabbing all the components for the disk brakes and power setup. What would be a reasonable price for it all?

Thanks

I paid $75 for the spindles, rotors, and control arms still assembled, the master cylinder and booster and the proportioning valve.
I got them off of a '73 f100 at a junkyard also.

Very important, make sure you grab the proportioning valve off the frame WITH THE FITTINGS! I'm not sure if it is still true, but the fittings were hard to come by.
The brake lines can be flaired but the nuts are hard to get. Don't throw away the dust shields either. No one repops them. You'll have to got spend a ton of money from the dealership to get replacements. I learned the hard way :o
