Steering when turning to the left

Steering when turning to the left
I turned into a parking lot and my steering made a clicking sound like the gearbox was stripped. The coupler is new. When I turn to the right the steering shaft seems to be screwing down onto the gearbox until it bottoms out but turning to the left it does fine. Any suggestions.

clicking sound? have a look at the pitman arm splines. if the box is bottoming out it could be the splines are slipping on the shaft.
