As I signed onto the website tonight the following information was posted on the Home page.
So far the facts have been correct and I enjoy reading them.....but I question it this time.
It states the following:
DID YOU KNOW?
1967 was the first year for the foot-pedal-style parking brake on the F250/F350 4x4 which connected to the rear brakes. Previous models used a hand lever connected to a drum brake on the driveshaft.
For anyone interested, I own a 1967 Merc F250 4x4 and I have the "hand pull" - (Orscheln design) which connects to the rear brake drums......not a drum brake on the drive shaft.
I must have a very early year 1967 or Ford was just using up 66 and earlier parts before the change over.
I really like the hand pull brake system and so far have not seen another one like my setup.
