are there any newer steering boxs that well interchange with a 1971 my box is wore out and I'm a budget builder( like most of you)

Any '69-'79 2WD F100/350 power steering box will interchange.
However, there was a slight redesign in '71 to the steering linkage, including the Pitman arm on the steering box, so depending on the year of your truck, you may need to swap the Pitman arm if you buy a used box from a junkyard. There are two Pitman arms...one with a C9 number cast into it, another with a D2 number. As long as the replacement has the same number as the one you've currently got, you're OK. To use the Pitman arm with a different number than your current truck, you'll also have to use the matching steering linkage.
