engine compartment cleaning
What is the best cleaning soultion out there that wont eat the wiring...............?

gas. diesel fuel. a car wash. purple power works too. engine degreaser doesnt work on baked on old stuff.

When I have to wash the engine bay on mine, I just take it to the carwash. Spray it down with some 409 or similar degreaser. Been doing it this way for a long time & it has never caused any problems. If you have points ignition get ready to pop the cap off & dry the points tho. They dont like water.

Simple green works too...particularly in a pressure washer...

On our vehicles and aircraft we spray all the firewall and engines down with WD40 till it runs off. Wait about 10 minutes if it is all warm then soak it down with Purple Cleaner, leave it sit for another 5 minutes then pressure wash it all off. Just be careful of the Purple Cleaner that it doesn't get onto the exterior paint of your car/truck as it could leave streaks. This works real well on everything but hard baked on grease.
