Kick Down Linkage?????????

Post by First_Ford »

Hello All

I have a 68 f100 with the 240 and a auto 3 speed(was a 3 standard and previous owner changed) It has no linkage for the passing gear...I have a linkage from a early 80's truck that had the straight six in it. I can not get it to mount with the throttle linkage(1 barrel to gas pedal) Does anyone have a picture of the setup???? I know the kick down linkage I have is probably not correct ,or the linkage bracket for the carb to gas pedal is different for the Auto tranny, but if I knew how it was supposed to look I might be able to make something.....Any help is appreciated !!!!
Thanks
Dustin

I can offer no help except this. I have a stock 72 Maverick with the 200/c4 combo. I know everything on it is basically stock.
I could take a picture of how it is set up? I know it's not a truck but a lot of stuff like that Ford carried from one line to the other.
If nothing else might give you some ideas of how to make one work.
That or go junk-yarding and find one like yours
