points setting

do you know the gap for 390 points, im gonna do it right , the matchbook cover thing aint right, im gonna buy a gauge, thanks

Feeler gauge probably won't get it much closer than a matchbook.

You need to get a dwell meter to set them right.

i have a set of feeler gauges in my glvoe box. i also have a bok of mathces just incase i need to smoke? or the gauges have rusted up again and i need to buy another set.

distributor move a tiny bit,point open and close a little, this normal. enought to open and close it a little.

when setting the points the dist shouldnt move. it could if you bump it some how. but if the center shaft moves some it could still be good enough to run. if it moves alot then the bushing are worn and need done something with.
