is this the bolt that goes in the passenger exhaust for the tin heat shield or is this a power steering bracket to water pump stud?

Really doesn't look long enough for either one.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

The condition makes it appear to be exhaust, but yeah, it does look kind of short.

Fordman, you need a black keyboard like I have, doesn't show the grease from our parts and fingers so badly.

It goes on the 302 stock manifold for a heat sheild. The manifold needs both short and long studs. If you don't have a heat shield then you can put it anywhere, but I replaced mine with grade 8's.

well i found it in the crossover toolbox that i took of fo the capmer special i parted out. i was puttting odd botls and other larger parts in that tool box. i thought maybe i had put the a/c pulley and botls for the power steerign in that tool box. but i guess i didnt. becuase i cant find jack for those botls or the other pulley i had. and i am sure that pulley is different than the one i have here.

anyway that truck had a 360 in it. but i cant be sure where that botl came from. maybe it was already in that tool box.
