I am the proud new owner of a 1969 F100 with a 6 cylinder engine. It's not all that pretty but I'm happy. Well on to my problem. On the front driver side of the cabr above what I think is the acc. pump is a small hole that when I give it gas, gas shoots out of. Any advice would be aperciated.
That's what an accelerator pump is supposed to do. It's supposed to give the engine a shot of gas to prevent hesitation and stumble upon acceleration from a stop sign, or when starting out.

Yep, but that stream of gas should be coming from a thin tube inside the carb bowl.
From what he says, sounds like it's spitting up from the hole on the outside of the carb.
That's no bueno.. And would be some problem with the pump setup. Either diaphragm,
or bad or missing check ball, check valve, etc..
If the gas is shooting into the bowl, it's probably ok if it's from the normal port,
which is usually a little thin tube that sticks out a tad.
