Intake manifold question

Post by 68CamperSpecial »

I just had the Model 2300 Holley 500 cfm 2bbl carb installed on my truck and its working great.
However, I am now looking into intake manifolds and discovering that a lot of the after market intake manifolds are for 4-bbl carbs.
What intake manifold would work well with the Holley 500 cfm 2bbl carb?
Engine is a 360.
Thanks in advance!

I thought that might be the answer. Not the one I wanted but the new carb definitely woke the truck up so i'm happy.
Next stop, headers and exhaust.
Thanks for the reply.

I usually just get the Aluminum 4bbl aftermarket Manifold, & then us a 4bblx2bbl (or vis-a-versa) adapter/spacer. I did this in my old 72' Mustang's 302, with an Edelbrock 4bbl Aluminum Performer Intake, matched with a Holley 500cfm 2bbl & never had an issue with the results  you can usually get the spacer at any auto-zone, Advanced, or what ever your local parts-house or speed-shop is... Just another option. Later!

How does it work, having a 2bbl carb on a 4bbl intake?

I agree. The only problem with mine is the choke. It works but you can't close it all the way or the truck will not start. You kinda have to guess how far to pull the choke out when you start it.
Side oiler FE, see if you can catch me!!!

Anybody have a intake suggestions?
Just got the Edelbrock catalog. From what i've read here and the description in the catalog the Performer 390 is just a stock replacement.
Would the Performer RPM FE work with what I got?
