Radius arm bushing install

Post by marine6212 »

Hey guy's I installed 2 new radius arm bushings on my 1970 f250 CS this past saturday.

I read some other post and was not looking forward to doing this JOB! But I did it with out taking the WHOLE front end apart. Wish I had thought about taking pics to show what I was talking about. , I removed the bolts for the Ibeams and let them drop and then removed the bolts for the radius arms and I used a 5000# ratchet strap I have and I pulled the font end as far forward as I could to let the radius arms drop out and removed the old bushings and installed the new bushings. and then I used a bottle jack and raised the radius arms up to align with the holes and released the tension on the straps and let it go back in the holes. :woohoo: It took some muscle and a little brain power. I don't know which hurts worse!

The truck will actually run straight sown the road and stop straight now... :hd: :hd:

Nice job on the bushings. It's amazing what a difference they make.

The driver side was completly gone. just the two washers left. I would change them again now that I know what I'm doing and how to do it.
