tire cleaner
i'm not a fan of fancy, expensive aftermarket stuff that works just as good as basic stuff....i have yuk on my tires...i.e. some of that tire shine stuff mixed in with dust and dirt...i washed it with soap and water and it just stared back at me....anyone know a good household cleaner, or garage cleaner, that completely cleans tires and is safe for the rubber....i'm kinda thinking the tire shine stuff might need to be broken down with a degreaser of sorts, but i don't want my tires messed up

Re: tire cleaner
Some stuff I use on my white letter bf radial t/a's is Westley's Blech-Wite Tire cleaner. Instead of being expensive tire cleaner/shine that makes them look oily it cleans them and really makes the white letters on tires look great , it also cleans plain black pretty well also. You can get it various auto stores , shucks , napa etc.
It's like 5 bucks for a big squirt bottle of it that will last for years. Plus as you were saying , you wanted it to be safe with tires , this is meant for tires just be sure to follow the directions.

Re: tire cleaner
im not a big fan of armor-all type cleaners, they leave the tires shiny. not for me. anyway when i want them clean a pressure washer is my weapon. maybe try soapy water and a scrub brush...
I do have some tire cleaner that ive only used once, I really liked the results so Ill probly use it from now on. matter of fact I would recommend this stuff if you want them clean but not super shiny.

Re: tire cleaner
I use Tuff Stuff and a scrub brush to make the tires look like new again. You can buy it at dollar stores or the big box stores(wal-mart) for $3 and change. As for the white walls or white letter tires wesley's is the only way.

i have used this stuff called bleach-white. it is 3 or 4 dollars and it works great on white letters as well as cleaning tires.
