i posted this video int he video sectio. i guess i am suppose to post it there instead of here. i am kind of unclear on that. but here is the link. give it a listen and see what i'm talking about. it is a tinny sound than it is in the video. it doesnt sound like a rod . it sounds more tinny than a rod. turn down the volume to hear it better. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 36#p378436

i found it. the balancer has slipped badly and is making the noise. with the enigne off you can turn the belt so far before the center of the balancer will stop it from easily turning. the outside will turn real easily until the inner part stops and catches and makes it turn hard enought to turn the enigne over.
