I noticed in a thread a while back that the passenger side spring is supposed to be a little longer than the driver's side. I got a set of new springs and they measured the same length.
However, the diameter of the coil of the one marked drivers side is a tad bit thinner and weighs 13 lbs. The passenger side weighs 14.5 lbs.
The length of the old drivers side spring is 1/2 inch longer than the pass side spring. The old drivers side spring weighs 12 lbs and the pass side spring weighs 14.0 lbs
Does the length matter more than the coil diameter?

they did it two ways. length or strength. so you are good to go. atleast they marked it for you.

Hi Faltura!
What is the GVW rating of your truck, and what springs did you buy (brand/model)?
On my truck, which is an 8,100lb GVW F250, I installed Spicer 5851124's. The 5851124 is meant for pickups between approximately 7,000lb and 10,000lb GVW.
Previous to that, I tried Moog 8646 springs, but preferred the Spicer 5851124's due to better "pig tails" (the bottom, final coil).
On the factory springs, the Moog 8646, and the Spicer 5851124, the driver's side was longer and skinnier while the passenger's side was shorter and fatter (and heavier). That sounds just like what you're describing.
There's some uncertainty on this subject because (as I understand it), the springs for F100s are taller on the passenger's side (the opposite of the heavy F250 springs).

Re: Front coil springs 69 F250
my question on spring period is, is there a difference between engine sizes relations to spring strengths? if you go from 302-390, do you need heavier springs?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Re: Front coil springs 69 F250
You will need heavier springs for a heavier engine. My springs from Autozone had a tag on the longer spring stating it was for the driver's side. I measured my springs with calipers and my old springs were not as thick as my new ones. I don't know if the old springs were original, but the truck originally had the 300 and now it has a 302. On Rock Auto, as you select different engines and look at coil springs, you will notice that there are different part numbers listed (at least for the F100's). Someone told me the 300 was heavier than the 302, so I was actually a bit suprised the springs were thicker, but who really knows what was original with this truck.
Check out my build. http://s1088.photobucket.com/albums/i336/MyF100/

Re: Front coil springs 69 F250
Thanks for the info guys. I believe my truck it the 6900 gvw. This might be one of those things where general knowledge is posted in most parts manuals, but the slight differences resulted in slight spring mods by the factory. I feel that if the front end is heavier on the right side, the heavier spring should be there. I thought it was odd that some people were talking about the lengths being different. Seems every part of this truck is an education for me. At the rate I'm going, this will be a lifetime project/education for me.
