I finally got my donor truck for my 68..A 79 F150..I will do the I beam swap. I pulled the booster, master cylinder, prop valve and brake line brackets. I also pulled the brake peadal and support. Question 1. How do I know if the booster is still good? Question 2. Do I need the 79 brake support and pedal or will my stock 68 pedal/support work? Question 3. Can I still use my 68 Springs?
Thanks for any info....

1 you cant without bolting it in and hooking it up. beware the 79 bosster rods usually wont work on our trucks. 2 no the brake pedal and bracket wont fit our trucks. 3 yes the springs will fit but must be matched with the spring cups that come with the springs.

i don't know the 78 and 79 booster rods are different than our trucks. if it is a flat bar you could just redrill the hole in it. the only other thing i can think of is to redrill the brake pedal bracket to work with that rod.

And as he said before redrilling the pedal arm or the boosters rod to work will, well work.
On my 72 f100 I redrilled the brake pedal up 1/4"-1/2" and back(towards the firewall 1/2"-3/4". this made the 78-79 boosters flat metal bar work with the 72's pedal assembly.
For some reason in 78 ford decided to raise the mounting point on the pedal arm by the above measurements, then they also decided the booster needed the rod to actuate like the z-bar on the mechanical clutch. or like the bell crank setup for the 67-72 trucks's gas pedal linkage.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~
