Am looking at a '70 F100 4x4 sometime next week and am looking for what is unique to the 4X4's. I know the VIN is "F11" for that year. Someone told me that the 4X4's came with a box frame verses the "C" channel on the 2x4's. Anything else? What transfer case came in the stock 390 mating?
Yes the did not come stock with a 390, he 360 was as big as you could get. It most likely has a NP435 married to a DANA 21 T-case. They are coil sprung up front instead of leafs like the F-250's and larger. I know my frame is a C channel except a few areas up front where the steering box an motor mounts are. Those areas are boxed. The F-100 4x4's sit a little lower than the F-250's. Thats about all I can think about.
