72 F250 Camper Special 4x2

Post by 72f250cs »

Hello all,

I finally have my new truck home and I am starting to get around to fixin her up!! would like to post some pics for my profile but can't seem to find where our how to do it.....new to this forum stuff. any help is greatly appreciated.

FE 360, could have been an engine swap......old dirty sticker says 390 on aircleaner, however this is a "Y" vehicle for sure.
Anyway of telling the difference without opening the engine up?

Need some help or ideas on a carb problem...will usually start right up, idle rough at first. If to much gas is given it will bog out and die. Hard to get started again most of the time, will fire up on 1st try sometimes.

Looking for all the help I can get. Thanks

www.photobucket.com is the best. You upload your pics to them and link them here. After you upload you will see an IMG Code clike on it and it will automatically copy it for you so you can paste it to the forum.

I don't have the choke knob inside the cab. I have adjusted the choke, backed it off a bit from being "fully lean". It seems to run a little better, however still having the same problem. I also noticed that the tube running from the exhaust mainfold is running into the back of the carb. Shouldn't this go into choke? If I can ever figure out how to post pic's I can through on up and ask for help.

ok im confused if you mean the vacuum tube of the manifold is running into the carb that does not seem right. maybe those smarter than me will correct me but that sounds like vacuum is hooked to vacuum rather than running to anything that it needs to. also do you have an electric choke? or do you just have it rigged to be permanently choked? as for posting pics just open a flickr account or photobucket and just read any of the sticky posts on how to post them to the forum. and if you have a manual choke i would go buy a choke cable kit for like $5-10 and run it to the cab. It sounds to me your problem could be as simple as that.
cheers
