With drop beams, do you just keep the OE springs or do you have to buy special aftermarket springs?
I have decided that I'm going to make this truck what my Dad always wanted it to be: a racer. ( I feel bad lowering a truck, but it was his dream when he was my age.)
What should I do for rear springs? Right now, it has the heavy duty suspension in the rear and the rear sits up higher to give it quite the rake. I don't like that look, I'd rather have the truck sit level. Suggestions?

On the front, you just reuse the stock springs with the drop beams.
On the rear, if it has a helper leaf spring and you don't ever haul anything heavy, you could remove it and get about 3/4 inch or so of drop. If you want more drop, you'll have to either flip the front spring hanger (the inexpensive route), or buy a hanger & shackle drop kit if you don't mind spending the money. If it has the flexomatic springs, the shackle & hanger kit is not an option. The front hanger flip will be your best bet then.
