Howdy, new guy here

Post by Stape »

Hey folks, new here, so far enjoy the site. I'll give ya the gouge on me, in the Navy, work Biomedical services up here, from North Texas, hence the Texas flag even though I'm in Bremerton Wa. Was always a Chevy guy (don't flame me yet) had a few gow jobs, some good some not. Long story short, I tried a dodge, beautiful, jacked up to the sky head turner, but thats it, the POS never ran, spent more time in the shop than my driveway. Went looking for a good honest truck and came across a 85 Ford F250 Diesel 4x4. Loved the thing, reminded me of cruising around with my pops, no destination, just hanging out, maybe plink some cans out in the woods and such, call it nostalgia, any how, I am military, and the F 250 was too heavy to haul on a car dolly or trailer, I am going to Ct in a few months, so needed a truck. Now, I ride a motorcycle, one of my three, year round, if theres ice on the road, I got a seperate set of hoops for one of my bikes that has studs, but rain or shine, I ride a motorcycle, but a mans gotta have a truck, you know what I mean? Anyhow, I sold my 250 and with that cash, I came across a gorgeous 1969 F100 SWB. I almost didn't go to look at it cause I was tired of going to look at these rusted out POS's, but I went, and was rewarded with a straight, absolutely 99.9% rust free truck. Straight, seams line up, no rust inside or out or under. Rebuilt rear, tranny and a fresh 390 all with reciepts. Nice wheels, rallies with old cone ford hub caps and beauty rings, new tires, good brakes, thing tracks good, stops and launches straight. Truck is all black and chrome, new dash, all factory gauges work, aftermarket tilt wheel. Think rockabilly/misfits/punk/retro greaser cool truck. Anyway, I dig it. Purrs like a litten rollin down the road, fires right up, doesn't leak a drop. So, just wanted to drop in, give you quick history of why I am here, and let you all know that I look forward to taking part of this board. Looks like a great place with great folks, plus, the truck came along with a bunch of stuff, hood, doors, tailgate, chrome, but the truck is solid and I don't need it, so might be looking at doing some swapping, but anyways, you guys will see me around. Thanks, take care, and have a happy and safe 4th.
