Which hoods for the F100's are interchangeable?
Will a 74' hood fit a 70'?
Thanks for your time!

I'm pretty sure there has been a question on this before. You might do a search and see what you find.

67-72 f100 - f350 and some years , which ones I am unsure, of the 2 ton trucks have the same hood. A 74 will not fit our trucks. I tried with no luck.

re: hood interchange
I thought they would but they look funny since they dont line up with the body lines or something.

re: hood interchange
The dentside hoods have the latch receiver on the core support, whereas the bumpsides have the latch receiver on the hood itself. However, you could make it fit by either mounting the dentside latch assy. on the bumpside core support or just using a dentside core support...which would be a better idea since the dentside's hood spring pocket is also on top of the dentside core support.
Also, the center ridge on the dentside hood extends all the way back into the cowl panel, whereas the bumpside's ridge stops short of the cowl panel.

It's kinda like the dentside tailgate...you could make it physically bolt on and latch, but the lines won't match and it just looks bad. Don't do it.

The thing I liked about the dentside hoods and latch assembly, is that on some of them there was an in cab release pull. Even rarer was the LOCKING in cab release pull.
I really hope someone can find away to make that hood release work with our trucks, because a way to lock the engine compartment would be awesome!
