Ranger Grill Emblem

Post by 69F110 »

My 69 did not have the RANGER insert in the grill when I got it...but it did have the holder for it.

So...I am making my own. I already have the template for it, perfect size too. It fits into the holder very nice. I am going to use plexi-glass on the front side of it and the actual emblem I am doing in three variations...one will be the standard red background with white lettering, the others will be whit background with red lettering and a blue background with white lettering.

Since I am now planning on the red and white two tone, I can easilyt switch out the two red and whites as I desire, but until then, the truck is blue and white and that one will ride in there until the paint job, which may be a long time.

any thoughts? I'll post some pictures when I get the chance...probably the weekend.

Sounds like a good idea...

I've been serious thinking about doing something like that too...
I have a '69 Ranger grille that I'm debating whether or not to use on my '68 CS.
If I use it, I'm gonna paint the center stripe blue, and make a new center piece that is just the like the blue oval.

That will work as well. I was thinking of making a ford oval as well...elongated to fit in the centerpiece. I'll see how it works and let you know.

Just a little home made jobbie I picked up at the wrecking yard over the weekend. Pics are not that great but besides the FORD in front, he wired up lights to the back. Right now I am trying to find the same type of bulb the PO used to see if it will still light up! Just might keep the 69 grille on my 72!

That is pretty cool. I still ha, but I haven't cut mine out yet, but I got the plexi-glass and time this week.

We'll see what I come up with.
