New to the site and have a question for you guys..
I am the very proud new owner of a 68 2wd shortbed.. Anyway, the question i have is this.. I've been all through this site for power steering options, disc brake setups.. and i would also like to put a fuel tank under the bed and get it out of the cab.. I have a friend who has a COMPLETE 1980 f150 2wd.. power brakes, power steering.. everything i want to have on the 68.. Can I use that truck.. He only wants $100.00 for it, he's tired of it sitting on his property.. what do you guys think? I mean, for $100.00 can I fab something up to make everything off that truck work?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Hey BMP_SYD...
A big webfoot welcome to ya from the great Pacific Northwest...
'68's ROCK !!!
I'm nearly 100% positive the answer would be no...
the suspension and mounts are totally differant.
I'm sure that if you are a skilled fabricator, you can probably make anything work if you really want to.

Another welcome from Northern California.
I agree with kaptnkaos - I'm pretty sure the last year you can use (at least as a 'bolt-in' replacement) for those items is 1979 - they changed the styles in '80.

Yeah, I appreciate the input.. I've never seen anyone able to use '80 parts either.. but the $100.00 price is at least worth the gas tank relocation which I know I can make work.. so like 427 said.. buy it, use the parts i can, scrap it for more than i paid..YES! ha

You can use the seat, if you mount the frame to the seat tracks off your bumpside.

Hi and welcome from Pennsylvania. In answer to your question the 80 stuff won't work. However I'd still grab it for $100.Lots of small stuff does interchange so you could strip what works then sell or scrap the rest.
