another new guy to add to the list

Post by unclejtl »

Hello,

I've been lurking for a while, as I looked for a truck, and found this web page/forum very helpfull. I grew up with ford trucks, but always had prerunner toyotas, manx dune buggys, dual sport bikes, etc... well, I'm back to my roots! I just purchased a 1971 f100 302, granny 4spd, pwr strg and manual brakes. It runs good, but needs some attention. got it for $1500 from the 2nd owner and it's very straight for a 37 year old truck. apperently the first owner liked to fish and thats about all it was used for.

Anyway, I live in ventura, ca and here's a few picts (cause you can't have a thred without picts!)

Welcome, and nice find! So, what are the little doors on the sides of the bed for??? Are they little storage compartments? I don't think I've ever seen those.

Thanks for the welcom everybody. yes, Iam happy with my find! :D

fomoco guy, those are doors to the extra fuel tanks. there are 3 fuel tanks total. the PO said he had never used the two aux tanks, so I will need to remove them, clean them and figure how to install senders into them.
