was the factory underside of our trucks painted?

was the underside of our trucks painted the same as exterior?
or was it a black undercoating or something.
the whole underside of my truck is undercoating. even backs of fenders etc.

Both of mine painted the same color as the cab.

Most of the time they were primed with a red oxide or pinkish color primer with the cab color sprayed lightly over or just cab color overspray. I just finished mine back to the same color as the botom color of the twp tone.

ours is undercoated, which must have been done either by the dealer or shortly after purchase by the original owner, as the metal underneath is a clean as factory new. Both the underside of the cab inner fenders and bed are covered, it is beginning to peel now, but has done a good job of protecting it all these years.

I have a unrestored 1968 Ranger. I was under it yesterday and the underside is a pinkish/tanish color. There is very little overspray from the body color of lunar green.
