big white brick (71 Sport custom)

Hey all,

I finally got the big white brick back to my place and took some pictures.

Here's the general pic of the pile sitting in my driveway.


here are some of the "tricked out mods" that the previous owner put on.

Such as the custom interior







and the Aftermarket exhaust hangers



The only serious problems i've seen so far is that the suspension has WAY to much play in it and the underside of the cab has a stupid amount of rust.






But the bed has a feature that I love, a belly box. I've never seen this stock on any truck before. It even has a hubcap in it.





I'm also not too sure how to identify the rear end.


All in all I think it's a good buy for about $250

I think you did fine for $250.You've got some work to do but it looks like a good start.The tool box was an option on these trucks.I don't know if they qualify as rare or not.The rear is a 9" Ford unit.They were used in cars and light trucks starting in the 50's up into the early 80's.Parts are readily available.

Not bad at all for $250. I love the shift pattern on the ashtray. How does one forget where the gears are (or did you do that to get it home?)? Anyway, the truck is cool and you have a little work ahead of you but it sure is fun! Take it one step at a time. Good luck with your project!

I think it is a great deal for $250. I've seen a lot worse go for a lot more. Not bad looking either aside from the rust.

As Clay said it's a 9 inch Ford. There should be a tag under one of the bolts on the front side of it, (unless some bozo has removed it).

This'll tell you what gear ratio you have.

No I didn't put that on there I actually had it towed home because the front passenger tire has some serious dry rot. But the previous owner put the shift pattern on the dash.

So here's the latest update:

I know it's been more than a year since I first posted stuff about this but I thought I should put something up today.

I decided to push my gutted 91 RX-7 out of my carport and see if I could push my bump into its place. Just for fun I decided to throw the keys in it and try and start it.

Mind you that it hasn't started since it was towed to my house in Feb of last year. I cranked the keys for about fifteen seconds and she started right up!

god I love my FE. it's had two flat tires and I drove it under its own power down my driveway and into its new home in my carport.

and as an added bonus I had by friend walk around the car and look at all the lights and they all work! From the brake lights to the headlights and everything in between works PERFECTLY!
I've built mitsubishi Evos that burnt themselves out after three years.

HOORAY FORD!
