OK, I am at a cross roads and want to know your opinions on my dilemma, cancelled my order for new floor pans and cab mounts, because a guy i work with said he could get me a parts truck with a good cab for 200 bucks, well I got it now and there is a couple ok parts, let me describe my potential donor cab (it came from a scrap yard and has to go back asap)
the cab is overall in a little worse condition, the floors are alot better but there is a little rust out, (my truck has literally no floors or cab mounts) donor cab has those (jc whitney I think) bolt on cab mounts but they are solid, the rockers are there(rockers on mine are held on by 2 threads of rust) the cab corners need replaced, a decent size dent where the gas cap is (like it was pushed in very hard, I do know body work however) and a couple more dents than the outside of the cab , (but not structural problems like my cab) has a great gauge cluster (mine is total crap) sunvisors, a brake line that i need, good pass inner fender, drvr inner fender has a little rust behind hood hinge mount (is this easily repaired? it is minimal, but i do still have those excellent condition dentside inners and core support, but theyd have to be modified to fit) throttle return spring, heater control valve. the doors are smashed in where they moved it around with the fork lift (pass door opens and closes, drvr door wont) is it worth swapping, dont have my camera on me so I cant post pics, i can do small patches in the floor, and I can pull the dents and replace cab corners, theoretically I can repair the 1 rusted inner fender, also i need to swap my ac unit over (hows that) or should i just pull the gauges and sell it back to the scrap yard?

if the mounts are that new i would use them on whichever cab is the best cab. you can also get the cab mounts and floors from a dentside truck. if your close enough to a rust free state i would look there. where are you anyway? i know oyu can get stuff in arizona new mexico texas california oregon and washinton. and neveda.

Oh yeah, Springfield Illinois, were seeing 2000+ vehicles rusting already, and i tore that other truck apart yestarday and got the cab mounts, inner fenders (whatll I do with those great dentside inners now?) steering column, sunvisors, gauge cluster, throttle return spring, brake line from ds front brake hose to proportioning valve, I just need to find some floors and rockers and cab corners and outer fenders now and ill be good. too bad the floors in my donor werent as good as i hoped.
