Opinions needed

Post by doctorcharles08 »

I am plaining on rebuilding my 390 not doing to much to it. Ya know headers, electric ignition, 4 Barrel and that's basically it. And lowering my truck with the DJM kits. Do you guys think I really need to convert my brakes to power disc? What are your opinions on power steering as well? I have figured out everything else I want to do to my 69 F 100 but these have to be decided first.

Thanks! :D

Should I find a 73-79 donor truck or should I get the conversion kit?

if there is a good donor, take your time....get all of the bolts, brackets, clips etc. All the little factory pieces to make it go together & look (and perform) right.

you do what you want, you know your wife/neighbors better than us! But, after going through it, I'm a big advocate on buying the whole truck and robbing everything you need and disposing of corpse afterwards to be crushed or whatever. It's hard to be patient in junkyard and you'll find you don't have whatever you need, hard to be safe in yards, etc. If you can buy the whole truck for $250 or so, rob what you want and sell rest for crush for someone to pick up for $50 or so, you'd be much happier and you can take your time and not break stuff. And you might find few other things to rob before having donor crushed. just thought, banjo.
