Headlight Adjuster, is it possible?

I have just bought some adjuster assemblies but I forgot to buy the rivets. Now I can grind the rivets down I guess, but is there a way to get the little nut out of the holder and put it back in the hold housings, that are already on the grill? Is it even possible?

it looks like they crimp the backside of the nut to hold the actual threaded piece in. I dont know if it's worth messing with. I will go to Lowes to find the rivets or something if nothing else.
