Did all of are tailgates have the Decals that said FORD?
When I got my truck they was not on there, if they was on at one time I sure can't tell.

On the dentsides this was a "dead giveaway" that the tailgate had been replaced, (seems that there are no aftermarket "ford logo stamped" tailgates).no they never had decals.
Does the same hold true for our bumpsides?

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

Dennis Carpenter sells a replacement tailgate that has FORD stamped in it...
FWIW, they also show a gate for the 73-79's that have FORD stamped in them. If you have a gate that does not have FORD stamped in it, chances are it was aftermarket. Some people sell decals that are made to go over the letters to "enhance" them (with another color), but I don't know if that was typical or not.
