Cab Mounts

Post by slamons »

Please tell me an easy way to remove the rubber / metal mounts that are bolted thru the frame then into the cab. I have the cab off and everything off of the frame to refinish but I cannot get these mounts off of the frame, getting ready to start cutting.......

Are you talking about the rear mounts? If I recall correctly, these have a 'twist lock' arrangement that is next to impossible to remove when rusted together. You'll have to cut them off somehow.
Sorry.

for the front mounts i use a sawzall and cut the bolts right through the rubber at the same time. i just cut from the top of the cab mount. the rear mounts i take a large punch and hit the inside center of them and they pop apart.
