Will doors from a '67 cab work on a '72?

Post by mytmatt »

What is the interchangeability for doors? I just got a '67 Ranger cab. I just need the doors, and they are in pretty good shape. Will they work on my '72 without modification? If mods are needed, what would they be?

The cab is a bit rough, but if anyone out there is interested, I would give it to them for FREE. I will post pix as needed. It's in West Texas, between Abilene and San Angelo.

And, does the '67 curse apply if you just get a cab and not the whole truck?

Yes, '67 doors will bolt right onto a '72 with no problems and no mods needed.

As for your second question......well, I guess we'll find out, won't we?

just a note of info. the hinge mounting may be a bit different. when i snagged a set of 68 doors from a junkyard, i just had to ratchet the bolts out. but when i put them on my 67, there was nuts on the back inside the bracing with no threads at all. needless to say i broke two bolts, and only have 2 bolts in the other door for now. lol

The bolts thread into the hinges...the hinge strap itself is threaded. If there were not threads in there, it's possible a previous owner broke off a bolt and then just drilled it out and replaced it with a bolt/nut, instead of rethreading the hinge strap. That's not a factory thing.
