first open up the inner side kick panels of the truck. on the drivers side there is a fresh air vent that can be removed. on the passenger side there is another one that the heater gets its air from. get all the junk and leaves out from those two places. then take a garden hose and wash the ones from the cowl down intot he kick panel areas and clean the kick panels areas out again. make sure the water drains from the bottom of the kick panel thought the hole in the bottom. replace your air vents and your done.

After doing on pass side I didn't have nerve to remove emergency brake assy and doing driver side. I did make sure all drain holes on my truck flowed freely though. Gotta watch your pass side vent, if I remember right it's held down by strip caulk and easy to break or at least mine cracked pretty good, going to have to JB Weld that crack. I wish I'd have just left mine alone.

E brake assy. is easy. Two nuts on the fender and one on the dash. Just took my vent off to put new seal on the door(got tired of the cold breeze).
Oh,and you think leaves are bad,try a butt load of fir needles and cones. Turn on the blower and it's just like the great outdoors.

Then I'd have to tarp it all the time.
Besides,it gives me something else to tinker with.

You can buy that caulk in rolls from any good auto jobber. They make the smaller size just for this. If not just take a roll of window ribbon and roll it like clay in short strips and place it in position.

No, I'm not talking about strip caulk breaking, I'm talking about the dang peice that bolts to the pass cowl! That's why I hate I even removed mine, kinda wish I'd spent more time using shop vac and compressed air to get junk out. Also, broke my blower motor resistor trying to unplug heater box assy in this process. So the whole deal has been unpleasant to me, which is why I'm suggesting try to get stuff out other ways if possible, with shop vac/compressed air and stuff like that.
It's very true stuff should not be allowed to gather it will rust and also true you need to check your drains all over your truck. Banjo.

my favorite method is to hit about 70mph on the highway with the vent door open and reach down whilest cruising at said speed and dig the leaves out with my index finger. this make s for loads of fun in an otherwise uninteresting trip.
