HELP! What does calypso coral look like?

My truck is white but I can see that
the original color on the glovebox
door and ash tray are off white.
That is why I assumed that calypso coral
was off white. Is it offwhite or RED?
I think I got the idea that my truck was
originally calypso coral from the code inside
the door jamb.

I am going to have to find out what
the original color was. If it IS red
that's a whole new ball of wax ain't it?

You will find this site is the best source for technical info on 67-72 Ford Trucks. Its all there in the Tech pages that Kieth has put together. Thats why we all rave about Kieth, he has saved us thousands of hours of searching, and saved us from making thousands of mistakes working on our trucks.

since we are on this subject. the original colors of my 70 swb were royal maroon ans wimbledon white. the maroon was the exterior so the white was on the inside. would the whole inside of the cab had been white or two tone?

Here's an example of a '71 with a two-tone paint job, using Calypso Coral and Wimbleton White (VIN tag paint code of M1):

White would've been considered the accent color, which was never carried over into the cab interior. The entire cab interior would've been painted a single color, the primary color.

Well It looks like I have a

2 wheel drive truck
360 cid, 8 cyl engine
made in Kansas City
2,357th truck made in Feb of 1971
It has a 131" long wheelbase
body is Wimbledon White.
It has a GVW of 4,500 pounds
Custom trim with Lt. Green\Med Green viny.
It has a styleside bed.
3-speed - ford - manual transmission
and a 3.0 - 3300# Ford rear axle (what does this mean?)
and has a GVW of 4,500 pounds
It has a certified net horsepower of 172 at 4100 RPMs
District special order code of 52 can't be found.

Does that seem about right?
What are the characteristics of a 3.0 rear end? Is it slower/more torque
for towing? Or is it the opposite? Is it better for cruising on the hwy
not particularly hauling much weight.

a 3.0:1 gear ratio in the rear end is better for towing than 3.25 or higher(Shorter gearing) but gets better milage than a 2.90 or lower(taller gearing).
