Hi Everyone,
I used to use this board frequently, I think I even posted pics of my '71 Sport Custom with overhead camper mounted at one time, but now I can't figure out how to find them again on this forum.
Anyway, I finally removed the old camper after 29 years this weekend and finally plan to begin to restore the pickup (58,892 original miles on her now, I've owned her since 1978).
I was worried about bed rust before I took the camper off, but there's no rust where the camper bed rested...only some surface rust in the front of the bed where the camper bed ended. Now, with the bed exposed before winter I'm looking for suggestions to maintan the box condition.
I've researched spray-on bedliners, bed liner plastic inserts (couldn't find any available for our trucks) and tonneau covers. I don't want a topper and am leaning toward the tonneau cover, but it's still difficult to find one of these for our 1967-1972 truck models.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and links, urls, etc. regarding covers that will fit our trucks.

first until you fid what you want get some sanding done to kill the surface rust, then primer it or otherwise seal it up. a tonue is a topper of sorts so far lots of guys are doing rhino liners or line x.

re: Bed Protection
just remember, with spray in bed liners-they are basically permanent! once it's done it's done. having said that, i had my 93 line x'd. it looked better that rhino and sat outside in the sun for two years with no discoloration or visible wear. if you are absolutely sure that a spray in liner is the way you want to go i would highly recommend linex over rhino.
btw, it was about 480$ for my 93 short bed.
