Ford Blue

Post by The_Eman »

Anyone have a good source for Ford Blue. I'm cleaning my engine and I wanted to repaint the valve covers and air cleaner.

O'Reilly or Advanced. They have Ford Blue engine paint in the rattle cans. It dried up light on my breather but I had sprayed it on the side of my engine and and was much darker. Look at the bottom right of the picture and you can see the dark blue paint.

What you see there is the difference between Ford Blue and Ford Corporate Blue (I think they call it Ford New Blue or something like that now). Unfortunately I've bought cans of Ford "Blue" that were one color for one brand and the other for another brand.

That's kind'a why I did the black and gold thing this time.

The last time I bought engine paint it said "Old Ford Blue" and "New Ford Blue". Naturally I bought the old blue and it was the right one.

here is good pic of the two shades. the air cleaner is the new blue and the t-stat is the old blue. the valve covers are original. when i finally pull and clean the motor, it will the the old or darker blue.
