Suspension and Steering Questions

Post by flistr8 »

Hope this isn't too much of a repeat for y'all. I've just about got my '71 F250 steering dialed in. The last problem is the front wheels stay where you put them, in other words, when I turn, I don't get even a slight return to center. Is this a castor problem? Everything is lubed up and the truck tracks straight as an arrow.

As for the suspension, it is stiff!!! The shocks and springs look very old. I've got seven leaf springs. Would some combination of springs/shocks make this puppy a little more gentle on the bones? My chiropractor asked me to ask all y'all.

Thanks in advance.

My steering was real stiff like that after the disc swap. It loosened up after a few days.

Be sure nothing is binding up though. I thought mine was so I jacked it up and had my father turn the wheel, but found everything was free and clear.
