Newbie :: Portland, OR :: 1969 F250
Hello,
I've been lurking here for the past couple of months while shopping around for a truck to buy. Looked at Chevys and Fords, but ultimately this forum is a lot better than the Chevy forums I've looked at, so here I am. I've been wanting a 1969 truck (also the year I was born) for a long time now, and today was finally the day I bought one. So, I figured this was a good time to introduce myself as well... what a day!
I'm really happy with the truck, but there are some things I want to change right away. I'd like to find the right aluminum grille (I believe it's a '71 grille on it now), the side mirrors and the right hub caps. I also need to try to find a replacement dash pad, and get the seat reupholstered.
I know I'll have some questions as I start to dig into this truck, but I'll certainly try to search for the answer first. Anyway, nice to meet y'all.

Welcome Skip...
Ya can't beat a '69, unless of course it's a '68... (my personal fav)
Ya gotta make a promise...
As soon as it is economically feasable, ya gotta lose the '71 grille and put a nice polished '69 grille back on it.
The '67-'69 grilles are really a lot better looking... (personal opinion) check the tech pages on year indentification...
Keep the pictures coming ...

I can easily make that promise, kap'n... I haven't even had the truck for 24 hours, and I've already located a couple here in Portland I'm going to take a look at. I agree, it will look much better with the proper grille. I already installed one via photoshop... hubcaps, too.
The attached pic is what I want it to look like soon... didn't "install" side mirrors yet, but I'm wanting those right away, too.

Welcome aboard from another '69 F250 owner!
There a lot of members up in that area of the country, so it shouldn't be much of a problem finding the parts you need.

yup that's much better !!!
That's a tight trick...
hmmm... now that we know about you and yer photoshop abilities,
we will need verification that the pictures you post are authentic and not retouched... hehehe
Can't wait to see the project unfold.
hmmmm,
I wuz just thinkin' what ya could do with my "Olde Skool" bus???
The top is gonna be white, the bottom a light baby blue,
then it is gonna have a "splash" job in red starting in the front and going back like flames, but rounded so it looks like it ran into a big bucket of red paint...
take care...

Well, I found a 1969 grille today, but it was $150 and the driver side headlight bucket was in bad shape... I'm not too sure about pricing, but that seemed high for the condition it was in. I guess it's time to make a post in the "parts wanted" section.
Thanks again for the nice welcome guys!
