There is a guy that took 2 ford truck roofs from the '40s and made 1 roof for his bumpand the truck is flat black. The only trouble is, his name escapes me right now.

Here's a few pics of a '69 that belonged to 'morganator'.

I say "belonged", 'cause not long after those pics were taken, he found out about the perils of drinking and driving. ;)

He's probably fine. Drunks bend, they don't break. Flat black is wonderful. My buds '70 F-100 240 4 speed truck is flat black. There isn't a single even remotely straight part to the truck, but between the flat black paintjob and ranger trim held on with deck screws you can't really tell until about 5 feet away how beat it is. He paid $120 for the truck.

With an olive drab stripe on the bump! Don't mind the dirt, it is a protective covering for the high dollar paint job

Yea. It is all I have for now. 31x11.50 in the bed and 235/75 15 on the truck. I am suppose to go to the junkyard this weekend and get a spare wheel and probably a tire. Brand new bias ply tire. I really wouldn't feel comfortable putting that 31x11.50 on my truck if I had a flat. Luckily all 4 wheels and brand new BF tires cost me a total of $4.00 for a can of white paint to clean up the wheels. Just had to give up my 4x 31x10.50 on white spokes. But I didn't like the white spokes and the tires were not in that good of shape. Luckily my buddy just needed any set of tires and wheels to load his Bronco on a trailer.

BTW: In most of my pics the spare is wedged in the bed right behind the driver seat. This pic it is in the back of the bed on the passenger sided.

You guys will get the chance to see mine in flat black very soon. I've arranged to take an entire week off work, the work week of May 7-11, to finish up the bodywork on the choptop and get it painted. I ordered 4 more quarts of POR-15 this evening, which will be the base coat, then it'll get several coats of Krylon Flat while the POR is tacky.

Yea morganator was ok hurt his pride a little, matter of fact I think he posted a not so missing in action message other day. May not have been him , I'd have to research it, although it mentioned "if anyone remembers me wrecking mine" or something to that nature. But I do remember he wasn't hurt all that bad if at all.
