I just got my new floorboards and cab mounts from LMC (shipped to maine for $162 if anyone's curious), but am wondering of I oughta take an extra piece of sheet metal and weld under the cab mount for extra support. I'm gonna set it up onto a 3" body lift, but seems so some "spirited" off-roading or whatnot could almost punch the body lift spacer right up through the cab mount, or at least cave the mount up and in eventually. Anybody have any horror stories or bad things happen to the mounts?
I'm also am gonna use stiffer polyurethane mounts to replace the mushy rubber ones, too, if that makes any diff.

now I'm no expert, but could you not rework the mounts on the frame and gusset them to be safe on a body lift, or is that not how it's done? I know on a "stock floor" body drop, we just drop them down once the shorter rails are run...

as far as the lmc cab mounts you can see how they are. the ones from dc are original in how they were made and would have been better as a replacement i think. so the adding of the extra piece under the floor wouldn't be a question if you had those. but since you have the others i don't know what i would do with those and the way they mount to the cab.

Do you have a cs? I do and I can't lift with a bodylift kit cuz of my steering box is behind axle. Now if you have a cs let me know how it worksand where ya got it so I can do mine, if you don't mind

Had to add extra metal to all 6 cab mount spots.Blocks pushed up thru floor after awhile,seems ok now after adding. Was able to run 40" tires with only body lift (4x4) and sawsall.

I personally don't think the originals are even thick enough for a heavily wheeled 4x4. I decided on my cab that is rust free for the crew I'll be adding a thicker bottom plate to the mount matching the contour of the bottom so it's not noticeable. I just think the weight should be disperse along the entire cab mount not just the 3-4in spot the bushing is continually on. I think you'd prob be ok with a reg cab's weight but the crew throws a little more weight on those suckers. Here is what we added to my currently rusted mounts to get by. Also that poly seems to not give as much as the rubber and eats into the mounts quicker.

if you use tubing with c-channel welded to the top it will help disperse the weight.
