Patch Panels

Post by John C »

Hi from Australia,

My 1970 F250 just got the bad news at its roadworthy check, so its time for a total rebuild. Apart from the spring bushes, transmission, UJs, and steering problems there is a heap of rust to fix. I need floor pans, cab corners, door skins. The other bits I can easily fabricate. If I can't get the patch panels I will have to fabricate a lot more.

Can anyone point me to a supplier of rust repair sections who maybe exports to Australia? Also are the cab and door panels the same across the 67-72 models?

The truck appears to be a 1970 according to the Aust compliance plate but over the years it is a bit of a mixture, early passenger door (drivers door to you) with the push down handle to lock, the right hand side has the button near the window. Originally it had a 302 cu in engine but that is now a 351, and the grill looks like a '69. It started life with a manual box but someone put a C4 auto in it and the plonker left the clutch master cylinder hanging off the firewall!!! I checked the VIN on the site but it doesn't match up, maybe they are different for export. The VIN is FD1222S. Can anyone help with identifying it?

I know it is old and mesed up, but it is going to get another life. I know what it is like to be old and messed up.

Cheers,

John.

I know we (Year One) ships parts overseas all the time so I'm sure most companies can ship, but it does cost more. I would try LMC truck parts or Dennis Carpenter.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the information. The catalogs are on the way. Now I have to get a move on to finish my '59 Land Rover so I can get started.

Cheers,

John.
