Door latch not
My driver's door latch no longer wants to stay latched unless you really slam it, which is more than I care to do to old Goldie. Is the latch generally serviceable, or should I be planning on a new one?

Have you taken it apart and looked yet? It might be something simple.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!

Like i said replace it more than likely its worn slap out. From what you are saying that is what im getting from your info. Its not that hard to go to the salvage yard and take a replacement out rods and all. This way if any rods are stretched out of shape you have a replacement for it also without having to go back or fooling with a weak rod.
