Steering Hard making loud popping sound
I have a 68 F100 manual steering truck. When I make a right hand turn the steering wheel seems to stick and is followed by a loud popping noise and the dashboard even shutter badly. Any suggestions? It is a 3 on the tree.

Sounds (no pun intended) like your suspension is moving in ways it shouldn't. Check all the front suspension - radius arm bushings, pivot bushings, tie rod ends, steering box, etc. - for wear. Also, check engine and transmission mounts.

sounds like a bad gearbox to me, being its only on right turns. box may be loose on frame too or the rag joint is getting ready to break.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

Thanks for the tipes. Both King Pins shot and the rag joint was bad.

fix the rag joint and make only left turns until you get the kingpins done.
