Radio Antenna placement for 1969 Ranger
On my 69 Ranger the Radio antenna is on the drivers side. I don't recall seeing any other truck with it in the same place but there is no hole on the passenger side for it. Anyone got an explanation?

Could be but I don't see a reason for it. Maybe just a mistake someone made at the factory.

Yeah, sounds like a major screw up. No telling what else they did to that hunk of junk. Better to just sell it to me and be done with it. ![Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)

Yeah maybe I should sell it. But I don't know about selling to family. You might try to sue me for selling you a lemon or something ![Laughing lol](./images/smilies/icon_laughing01.gif)

My friend that worked at the Ford dealership all through the 60's and 70's said it was common for the radios to be installed at the dealership in kit form. Then it was pretty much open season as far as placement of the antenna, and sometimes depended on owner preference.

I don't think my truck was a camper special because it's only an F100 but it did have the auxiliary fuel tank set up. Maybe someone ordered that and they just put a camper special body on it?

re: Radio Antenna placement for 1969 Ranger
I'd say it's probably more likely that a previous owner simply installed the antenna on the wrong side. My 4x4 has one on the driver's side (no provisions for one on the passenger side), and it was hacked in...looks like they used a chain saw to cut the inner cowl to run the antenna wire.

Could've been for a CB antenna too. I had a '71 parts truck that had a hole on both sides, but I'm not sure if it was done by previous owner(s) or not. ![2 cents :2cents:](./images/smilies/icon_2cents.gif)
