I recently found the same 1971 F-100 Sport Custom of my fathers, who then gave it to me when i turned 16. They bought me a newer car for college and sold the truck. Well 15 years later now i found it and bought it again (it had a very distinct newer paint job and interior work). It runs pretty well, but is in need of a lot of body work. Now begins the restoration.....Great site and resource

F100jeeper,

Great story about getting the truck back. That is awesome. I wish I could find my Dad's 68...

Anyway, WELCOME! You are in the right place. There's a ton of information available and resources too. The Forums are full of great folks that will help you and we will hopefully learn as well.

We like pictures...so, when you get a chance, post some up. Also...there are alot of folks from Washington here...so there's probably folks close to you with the same passion for these trucks.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do it. And it's really my truck, since I fixed it up in the first place. But I'm trying to get my dad to fix the parts that were broken when he gave it to me and my mom to replace the parts she damaged when she backed into it.....Not going well though
I'm in the process of dismantling it now. But I really need info on good auto body shops in the Portland Oregon area to do paint stripping, metal/rust repair, and paint job (way beyond my expertise). Thanks again
