Build Sheet

Post by GMan »

Hi Keith. Looking at postings for the past year, someone asked a question about the body code number missing from their data plate. In one of your replies you posted a link where a build sheet for a particular truck could be ordered. This was the link you posted:

https://www.customersaskford.com/Kate/K ... eSite=Ford

That link is no longer active. Is there another way to obtain a build sheet? Thanks.

F.Y.I., I sent an email to Ford about getting a copy of the build sheet for my 68 F-100. They responded within two days requesting additional information so that they could process my request. They gave me the option of emailing the information back, or calling their customer assistance line. Not bad.

I also received a reply from Ford. Here is what the email included. This should help for a while. My original message was simply " Are vehicle build sheets still available for our older Fords?" and this is their reply below.

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center regarding build sheets for older Ford vehicles.

In an effort to assist you, we have researched your inquiry. Our resources indicate that build sheets are mailed for any vehicle older than 10 years from the current Model year. At this time build sheets are only provided for 1967 to 1992 model years.

Research cannot prepare build sheets or provide vehicle specific option information for vehicle models prior to 1967 as Ford only kept computerized records at the start of 1967.

Furthermore, if you would like to request a build sheet for your vehicle, more information is needed. Please include your original message with the following additional information to allow us to proceed.

Address:
City:
State:
Zip Code:
Cellular Phone Number:
Daytime Phone Number:
Home Phone Number:
Vehicle Year:
Vehicle Make:
Vehicle Model:
Vehicle Identification Number:

If you would prefer to provide this information over the phone, you may call us toll free at 1-800-392-3673 between the hours of 8am and 5pm, local time, Monday through Friday. Hearing impaired callers with access to a TDD may contact us by calling 1-800-232-5952.

If you have any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address them for you.

I had gotten the same reply so I followed throught and within 6wks they mailed me a very nice letterhead build sheet with all info pertaining to my truck based on vin# so i went right down to the local pack and ship and had it laminated might just frame it and hang it on the wall.

The only thing that confuses me is there is no mention that it is a Sport Custom or a Camper Special or info on the larger Brake System or Camper wire hookups etc. This Build sheet is too generic or missing info, or maybe because of the extreme late build for 72 model that info was lost somewhere along the assembly line. Is there another source for the info out there that will be more detailed about this truck??? :?

The deluxe report is only $45.00, but the elite is pretty pricey at $220.00. Here is the Ford build sheet I got for my white 67 crewcab from Ford.
