how long would it take to put the body parts from a 2wd pickup (front end and cab) onto a 4x4 frame? is it pretty streight forward?
can i use my 2wd 302?

re: 2wd F100 to 4x4 F250 frame swap
About as straightforward as it can get. Just transfer the parts. How long it would take would depend on how fast you work and how easily the parts come apart. You didn't mention whether the 4x4 is an F100 or F250, but the F250 rear cab mounts are on the outside of the frame, whereas all 2WD trucks and F100 4x4 trucks have the rear cab mounts on the inside, on the frame crossmember. If mounting a 2WD cab on an F250 4x4 frame, you'll have to drill a pair of holes for those rear mounts.
As for the 302, I'd have to strongly advise against it. Yes, with the proper frame mounts it'll bolt up and work, but it's just not the torque equivalent (or even close) to a big-block, and you need torque to get that 4x4 rolling. Heck, even a 240/300 straight six would be better than the 302 V8, IMHO.

He's forgotten that the 302 came out of a 4x4 SWB I parted.
the chassis has a divorced transfer case, and a dana 60 rear axle, so its an F-250. So Sean, find a $200 360 OR 390 and slap it in that bad boy! I see them on CL all the time.

In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!
