one smal wheel/tire question/brake

Post by Nickabocker »

ok i have a qustion i'm goin to be purchesing the following of the Summit website. the bolded text is the part number

BFG-57974 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO Tires $209.95

WVI-10-7812042 Wheel Vintiques 10 Series Chrome Smoothie Wheels $199.39

These rims are 17"x8" with a 4.5" to 4.75" bolt pattern (tires will fit these rims i think)

anyways he questions are......
1.Is this the correct bolt patter for my 1967 ford f100?????
2. will those rims fit those tires?
3. I've read recently you need a brake booster thing for rims/tires over 16"....is this true???
4.If number 3 is true what is the part and how much (and where) do you get it?

thanks,

Nick

my brakes work fine with 17" wheels,my tires are smaller though,i would at the very least upgrade to disc brakes if you dont already have them....

I am sure WV would have the 5.5 bolt pattern since all the older (pre 49) Ford cars use that pattern. I'm not sure what size tires those are but my personal preference is to keep with a tire that is at least 28 inches tall or the whole balance of the truck gets out of whack. They just have to have some sidewall to look right. Some 265-60 on 17s should look pretty good.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
