5 speed pickup

Post by willowbilly3 »

I scored a light duty (Mazda) 5 speed this weekend for $250. Now I can swap out the ZF in the 90 parts truck and sell it off as a runner. This just keeps getting better. I am hoping I can make enough off the truck to finance all the stuff I need for the swap.

Youre going to use the ZF and put the Mazda 5 spd in your new truck to sell? Is the ZF the good transmission?

The ZF is in the 90 but will go into my 69 crewcab. The Mazda is a lesser tranny and will go back into the 90 so I can off it as a runner.
I might repeat that the small block ZF trannys are a bit scarce since most were behind 460s and Diesels. And 5 speeds or any stick shifts are rare in east Texas. You can't even find a late model with a standard in these parts unless it is a base model compact.
