Towing Capacity?

Post by Badgt04 »

I was searching all over the net and I cannot find what the Trailer towing capability is of my 390/c6 1973 F100 Single Cab Long bed.

I am looking into getting a boat for the summer 8) and am trying to figure out how big I can go :D

Thanks

all I know is that my 72 with a 460 will tow a house lol.

A 390 should tow just about any boat you want. The stopping power is the big kicker. Disk brakes do help.

What can I do to help with towing...as far as suspension and brakes/shocks/springs ?

Do they make a rear disc conversion?

if you are really worried about the weight you might want to add some leaf supports. Overload springs? Whet ever you want to call them. Also, the disk brakes are a good thing to look into. As far as power, you should have plenty.
